  • July 1st!! The start of a new year for most in the medical community. Today, a brand new group of doctors will start applying all they have learned in the past 4 years of medical school to real patients. These interns will go through a rollercoaster of emotions today, mostly excitement and fear all rolled into one. Everyone feels this way on July 1st of their intern year. It’s ok! ⁣
⁣
➡️Never be afraid to ask for help. Everyone has been in the same situation and completely expect you to have a million questions.⁣
⁣
➡️Stay organized. The more prepared you are, the calmer and more confident you will be.⁣
⁣
➡️Rely on those around you. Burn out is real and everyone experiences it in one way or another. Talk to your fellow residents, chiefs, and program director. They are there to help. ⁣
⁣
Congratulations to all the new interns! You got this! ⁣
⁣
For me, this is my last first day of residency, my 24th grade. PGY-3 here I come!⁣
  • Check out the new blog post I wrote for @sketchymedical. It’s about how to transition from med school to residency. Perfect for all those who just matched! #doctorsoftomorrow
  • First week of being an upper level is In the books! But, what did I learn during intern year? Check out my new blog post to find out. Link in bio.
  • Last day of intern year!! Going out with a night shift! I cannot believe how fast this year has flown by. I have been shocked by how much I’ve learned, humbled by how much I still don’t know, and blessed to say that no matter how much time I’ve spent in the hospital this year, I still love what I do and wouldn’t have chosen anything else! #doctorsoftomorrow
